A large format painting, Celebrate! honors the bicentennial of the founding of Evansville, Indiana. It depicts the city’s iconic landmarks (many not in their accustomed places) come to life and dancing on the banks of the Ohio River.
Look for it at the Patchwork Central Holiday Art Sale, this Saturday, November 10, 2012 from 9 am to 3 pm. The location is 100 Washington Avenue in Evansville’s Arts District, one half block from Billy’s home and gallery. Parking is free and so is admission.
This is not your run of the mill craft show, either. All work sold is fine art or craft, the setting is warm and intimate, and the artists donate 30 percent of their sales to Patchwork to support its invaluable arts and service programming. So, the dollars you spend buying unique and original gifts at the Holiday Sale stay in Evansville, supporting our not-for-profits; small, working entrepreneurial artists, an the local businesses they patronize. Just drop by and take a look.
Billy will be giving all his visitors free copies of ‘The Washington Avenue Historic District: A Walking Tour and Primer of Fine Architecture in Evansville.’ It is a guide to the heart of the Arts District and we encourage you to go on the self-guided tour of one of Evansville’s most historic communities.
