Billy’s painting Bosse Field at 92 was made for the 2007 Art in the Ballpark exhibit, which was mounted by the Arts Council for several years. It was a Peoples Choice award winner, and is one of several portraits of the historic ballpark Billy has made, all of which are sold.
This year the Vanderburgh Community Foundation again tapped Billy’s portfolio for the art for this year’s Spirit of Giving Celebration (last year they used a drawing of the Alhambra Theater), selecting BF@92 to use for the invitation and advertisements. Bill Bussing, owner and public face of the Evansville Otters, was honored for his ongoing service to the community, and the Foundation presented him with the painting at today’s luncheon and ceremony, which were held on the field.
It is always a pleasure to work with Scott Wylie and the staff and Board of the VCF, and we thank them for their support of the arts. And our congratulations to Bill Bussing – enjoy your painting!
