A Shout Out! From Billy Hedel’s Studio – April 1, 2015 – No Foolin’!
Starting Wednesday, April 1 through Saturday, April 4 the Arts Council of Southwestern Indiana is hosting a spring sale of Billy’s work in its gallery at 318 Main Street. These are small works, including new paintings, vintage drawings (from the Chicago Cocktail series and Faces of Katrina series), and prints. All are marked down from regular retail prices and on Saturday you can take an extra 10% off sale prices. Weekday hours are 10a-4p. Billy will be at the Arts Council on Saturday afternoon from 3-6p
signing complimentary copies of The Washington Avenue Historic District: A Walking Tour and Primer of Fine Architecture in Evansville, which he illustrated, and to tell you more about his work.
Friday, April 3 is First Friday at Haynie’s Corner from 6-9p. It’s acoustic guitar night at the Bokeh Lounge, which is where Billy will be for a meet and greet to discuss his new show of larger-format paintings – Billy at the Bokeh: Places I Love. Most are architectural portraits of iconic venues in Evansville’s emerging cultural districts, particularly the Haynie’s Corner Arts District. This is a big show and is the inaugural exhibition in Bokeh’s new gallery space created as part of its recently-completed expansion. For more information about First Friday venues this month, visit www.hayniescorner.com or come to Bokeh or Patchwork Central for a map. Bokeh is located on the Haynie’s Corner Walkway; Patchwork is at 100 Washington Avenue.
