A Shout Out! From Billy Hedel’s Studio – Saturday, December 12, 2015
Looking for something fun to do this evening? Then come to Downtown Main Street where there will be a flurry of entertainment, open shops, bars, restaurants and other activities from 4 to 7 pm. If you go, drop in at the Arts Council (318 Main, 422-2111, T-Th 10-4) to see Billy’s mini-show of his 2015 collection, which includes new smaller paintings in his most popular price ranges. These are specially priced, and older work is discounted, for the Arts Council 2015 Holiday Sale, which runs through December 23 and features 25 artists and fine craftspeople.
So, if you are still gift-shopping, consider giving a heARTfelt gift this season.
The photo included in this post is of Billy’s most recently-completed commission, which was a birthday present. “Kissel’s Finer Foods” was located at Parrett and Washington in the building that now houses Aztec Printing. The recipient’s family owned the grocery store and she had much memorabilia to share. This picture (acrylic on canvas, 28 x 22 inches) is what we call a story painting, usually a more playful take on Billy’s ‘traditional’ portrait style.
If you would like to order a painting made specially for you or as a gift, we are lining up Billy’s winter work schedule and encourage you to contact us at 812/303-4722 or at firstname.lastname@example.org. We are sorry, but it is too late to commission a piece for this year.
Counting tonight, there are only 7 chances to shop the Arts Council sale.
With best wishes.
