Billy loves ferns and has been on a kick this spring, painting them on canvasses and a rain barrel, cutting stencils of fern fronds, and planting a fern garden. This year the City’s storm water conservation program asked local artists to decorate rain barrels that would be auctioned to benefit the organizations of their choice. Billy Hedel and five others volunteered and designated the Haynie’s Corner Arts District. These six and 13 other rain barrels will be auctioned tonight. You can place your silent bids at the barrel display ranging around the fountain, near the information booth. Your purchase of a rain barrel designated for HCADA will help support future FF@HC events, help the environment and our local storm water problem, and save you money on your water bill.
We would like to thank our clients who purchased paintings (such as “Tall Ferny Woods”) and sculptures (such as the pair shown below) at last month’s FF show of Billy’s work at Patchwork Central last month. Billy Hedel’s Studio donated 35% of sales that night to support programming such as the summer arts program now in session there, raising more than $ 300.
