Dropped in to the Arts Council Wednesday for a peak at the annual members-only show and was asked by a staff member why Billy hadn’t entered a work. I replied that he had and pointed to his wire sculpture that was one of a handful of 3-d pieces on display. She had not looked at the tag and had been expecting a painting. Surprise! Every year Billy looks forward to this show as a way to showcase a new or lesser-known aspect of his art. Seems like he did it again.
Art in the City opens tonight, Friday June 10 with a reception at the Arts Council (318 Main Street, 812/422-2111) from 5:30-7 pm. The show closes June 30. We invite you to join us this evening, or drop by the AC any Tuesday-Friday between 10 am and 4 pm.
The Arts Council consignment gallery also has a nice, new collection of Billy’s small pictures for sale, everything $ 100 or less.
